Was in business with the United States Colonisation Bureau of Virginia. Emigrated to Virginia around 1832.
The following is from Mary Louis Obituary in her Bible (Source Tom Blake)
Mme Perey his wife, was of the house of Gasser de Orzens, formerly of Belp de Berne, also Episcopal, and a direct descendant of King Christian of Denmark. She, with her two little daughters, Louise Pauline and Marie or Mary Louise, the subject of this memoir, and two servants, George and John Shory, left Yverdon March 14, 1835 for Ripley via New York where she joined her husband. After making their home in Ripley they went to Wheeling, from there to Louisville, Kentucky, thence to Vicksburg, Mississippi and from there to Fort Smith, Arkansas, where Mme. Perey died. She is buried on what is known as the Bluff.

M. Perey was away at the time of this sad event and the two little girls were left in charge of Christian friends of theirs in Little Rock and Fort Smith. All her relics, laces and important papers were stolen by the servants who came from Europe with them and not until the deathbed confession of one of them did they recover a part of that loss. The little girls were about grown and could properly care for their mother’s inheritance.

It is generally accepted that Francis Perry is none other than François Louis Perey who returned to Ripley and having lost his wife Henriette Glasser and her two daughters remaried Martha Parsons
