Individual Note:
     Janet Gilbert And Phillip Mouer Marry This Morning
Miss Janet Ruth Gilbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gilbert, 239 West Sixth Street,
became the bride of'Phillip Lee Mouer, pharmacist's mate 2-c, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F.
Mouer, 137 North Potomac Street, this morning in a quiet ceremony at the Zion
Evangelical and Reformed Church of Hagerstown. At 10:30 o'clock, the double ring,
ceremony was performed by the bride's pastor, the Rev. George H. Bricker, of Trinity
Evangelical and Reformed Church.
A white street-length dress of pin-dot marquisette was chosen by the bride for her
wedding. With this she wore white accessories and a red rosebud corsage showered with
white flowers.
Miss Marilyn Reid was the maid-of-honor. She wore a chartreuse street-length dress with
black accessories, and a corsage of red rose-buds showered with blue. Pharmacist's Mate
Mouer had H. Glenwood Ritz, seaman first class, as his best man.
After the ceremony, the bridal Party enjoyed dinner at the Hotel Alexander in Hagerstown.
Mr. and Mrs. Mouer left for a wedding trip to Atlantic City, N. J. Black accessories
complemented the bride's Lime traveling suit.
She, Is a graduate of the Waynesboro High School in the class of 1942, and Is employed
at the First National Bank and Trust Company. Her bridegroom, also a 1942 graduate of
Waynesboro High, attended Catawba College before his entrance Into the United States
Navy, in July of 1943. He recently returned after ten months in the South Pacific theater.
At the termination of his ten-day leave, PM Mouer will report to Norfolk, Virginia. The
bride plans to make her home with her parents.
