On the way to Dominical we saw a beautiful church in the town of Cartago. Inside there was a mass in progress, but we took pictures anyway. We took a detour to San Gerardo de Dota where there was the possibility of seeing some Queztals. Unfortunately, we were not there at the right time of day but the road was sensational and the restaurant where we ate lunch (not pictured) was well worth the effort.

 

This sign, hung by the road, told us we had finally arrived at Villas Escalaras. These are the steps from the parking area up to the house. Inside, the place was well furnished and there were windows on all sides. This is the communal living room/dining room where we ate dinner each night. There was also a bar at which we could sit and listen to Michael (the owner) tell us his experience building and running this facility.
